"The Blonde Conspiracy” feat. Greg Zink (An Impossible Interview VII)
My guest appearance on 'History Impossible' w/ Alex Von Sternberg
SPOTIFY & APPLE PODS:
Over the holiday season, I did spend time with friends and family, but I also talked with my dear friend and fellow writer Alex Von Sternberg of the History Impossible podcast. And over the course of a week, we sat down for multiple hours and recorded a podcast for you dear listener.
Both Alex and I are huge fans of old-school Hollywood and are equally fascinated by the legacy of debauchery, criminality, and death that it left in its wake.
For every ounce of glitz and glamour, there were pounds of repellent depravity.
And who better to represent both poles of the Golden Age of filth, sorry I mean FILM, than Marilyn Monroe? A woman who embodied both the best and worst of 1950s Los Angeles and all the high-rolling, pill-popping, and bed-swapping controversy that accompanied her meteoric rise and tragic fall.
So to commemorate our mutual admiration for her life and work, Alex and I decided to review the recently released film Blonde (2022) and then tie that into my Smoke Filled Rooms miniseries “Murdering Marilyn Monroe: The Kennedy Conspiracy Theory”.
I think you will enjoy our chat as we cover Marilyn’s sad childhood, her role in Hollywood, the intrinsically corrupted nature of the film industry, the Kennedy connection to Monroe, and various mysterious circumstances surrounding her death.
It’s a hell of a ride so buckle in and enjoy because in this pod conspiracies “are a girl’s best friend” ; )
